The parties in the ruling coalition have agreed to unite in the upcoming local elections. According to CPN(US) leader and former Prime Minister Jhal Nath Khanal, the meeting of the coalition held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar agreed to go for unity in the election.
There is an understanding to unite in the local elections,” he said. He said that it was decided to move ahead. Candidates for Metropolitan will be decided by the center itself and rest local level on the basis of requirement.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Deputy President of Nepali Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal from CPN(Maoist Center), Leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, CPN(Unified Socialist) leader and former Prime Minster Jhala Nath Khanal, Chairman from Janata Samajwadi Party Upendra Yadav and Federal Affairs Minister Rajendra Shrestha and Vice President of Rastriya Janamorcha Durga Poudel were present.
